Thia Kai Xin works as a data scientist at Lazada, the number one online shopping and selling destination in Southeast Asia. In his free time, Kai Xin co-founded DataScience SG, the biggest Data Science community in Singapore.

In our interview, he talks about his current responsibilities at Lazada, scaling a product for millions of users, getting into coding, infusing data into programming and how it can actually help users and products. Kai Xin likes the scientific aspect about his work and how data can be used to teach computers to be like a friend to customers.
